I have been a longtime fan of dry shampoos. I mean who hasn’t? For someone like me who wants to wash my hair as least as possible, I mean my hair is long, tanglely and just a pain in the ass. Dry shampoos were a magical product making my hair look clean without the actual cleaning. I guess you could say it was more the concept than the product themselves. I’m sure you can probably already guess my main issue with dry shampoos…the smell. Every dry shampoo I tried would knock me out with the fragrance. For awhile the Oscar Blandi dry powder ( not aerosol) was the only one I could stand the smell, but even that one’s fragrance kicked my ass. That’s probably why I’m so excited that (at least right now) I found one that even I can tolerate. I finally convinced my self to try Batiste ( I know I’m late to the party). I was able to sort of smell them in store so I could pick the one with the least obnoxious odor, for me that was the Original, and so far so good.
Batiste is a drug store brand that has been getting rave reviews for their dry shampoos for years. Depending on where you buy it, since every store has different prices, the majority of their products are under $10. Which is nice to find a product that’s inexpensive and really works. Especially for me I find that this dry shampoo really does help the hair look clean and absorb the oil. I really only use dry shampoo for that reason even though I know it can be used to give volume to the hair.
I like to apply my dry shampoo at night really letting the product sink in and absorb as much oil and dirt as possible. It also helps with the white cast this product does cause. But if white cast is a deal breaker they do sell ones tinted for your hair color. I personally don’t find the white cast that bothersome. In fact I feel like it gives a guide as to where the product is applied.
I’m sure this is old news since everyone but me really has already tried Batiste. But if you’re anything like me and have been hesitant about using dry shampoo because of the smell this one so far is the best I have found. I feel dry shampoo was made for someone like me ( someone too lazy to wash their hair) so finding one without a headache inducing smell is nothing short of amazing.
